“There are few things in this life more liberating that your worst fear realized. It is our failure to become our perceived ideal that ultimately defines us and makes us unique. It is not easy, but if you accept your misfortune and handle it right, your perceived failure can become a catalyst for profound reinvention. Whatever your dream is now, it will probably change.”
-Conan O’Brian. Dartmouth College Commencement address 2011. (One year after being ousted from the Tonight Show)
If you stop long enough and listen, you can hear that voice that moves you. It can be a calm, resolved voice of confidence or it can be fear. Fear represents dirty little gremlins telling you that you are not good enough and something nasty is about to befall you.
